Hyperhidrosis

Treatment Overview

Excess sweating affects approx 3% of the population, but it doesn’t have to be a problem. With Botox treatment you can reduce sweat levels and say goodbye to hyperhidrosis for life.

Hyperhidrosis Treatment

Hyperhidrosis is the medical name for excess sweating. If you find you’re sweating excessively when the room isn’t too hot and you’re not doing exercise, you may be suffering from the medical condition hyperhidrosis. This is when an above average amount of sweat is being produced by your sweat glands for no good reason. It’s an embarrassing problem, because it means your clothes are often wet with an unpleasant accompanying odour.

We offer an excess sweat treatment, which is highly effective, non-invasive, safe, and potentially life-changing. Botox administered into relevant areas of the body will stop sweat production by sending a chemical blocking signal to the nerves that stimulate the sweat glands. If you’re ready to grow your body confidence, and boost your social interactions, excess sweat treatment could be the answer.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW LONG WILL THE TREATMENT LAST?
The answer to this is very individual and depends on the patient’s metabolism, the dose, the placement etc. However after assessment done by SD Aesthetics, we should be able to give you an indication to how long.
Usually at a higher dose, most patients will get 1 year out of the treatment. The rest will probably require retreatment at 8 months.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE HYPERHIDROSIS TREATMENT?

A numbing cream can be applied to the underarm and covered with gladwrap  prior to the procedure. The area will be cleaned and taken care of before treatment. The treatment is then injected in the affected area. Then pressure with gauze will be applied. The procedure itself takes less than 20 minutes.

WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE OF HYPERHIDROSIS TREATMENT?

Sometimes there can be redness, small lumps, which can look like mild acne and usually resolve quite quickly. After your treatment , detailed after care will be given by SD Aesthetics.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS TREATMENT?

In general, treatment of excessive sweating is very low risk. The problems which occur depend on the area of the body that is injected. Bruising can occur in a significant number of cases. Infection is a very rare complication, but always a possibility when the needle goes into the skin. There is a low risk of muscle strength being affected in the area of injection. There is a possibility of a perceived increase in sweating in other areas of the body.
